Jim Nunn

Penciler

What do you do at Knightshift Entertainment?

Assassin's Guild #0 artist and KSE Partner.

Whose work inspired you to get into making comics?

Ah, jeez, who's didn't?   Let's see, John Buscema, Steve Ditko, Barry Windsor Smith, Jim Lee, Travis Charest, and the list goes on.

What creator would you like to work with?

Stan Lee, definitely.

What is the first comic book you ever read?

I don't recall which issue but I'm certain it was a Journey Into Mystery featuring The Mighty Thor.   By the time I was 10 my father had given me an entire run Thor, including all his appearances in Journey Into Mystery.

What is your current favorite comic and why?

Currently, my favourite comic is Wanted.   I like the mature overtone and the brutal plotline.

What is your dream comic book job?

To be the creator of a popular franchise and be able to hire writers and artists to continue it for me.

Pepsi or Coke?

Coke

If you never got into creating comics, what kind of career path would you have taken?

Exactly what I'm doing right now, a career in IT. I'm the Systems Administrator for the Seattle Monorail Project.   I work long hours on very expensive server systems that make the project "go".   Not much to do with comics but it pays the bills.

What is your all time favorite movie?

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (extended edition).

Who is your favorite comic character?

Eh, I don't really play favourites much anymore but there was a time when The Punisher was my favourite character, before he was hollywoodified of course.   Garth Ennis' reinvention of the character put him in my top 5 again though.

Who is your least favorite comic character?

Um, 3-D Man?

If DC comics asked you to write or plot the next 12 months of Superman, what kind of story would you give them?

It would be something along the lines of Superman having finally realized that he and Lex have always been friends and decides to change sides.   Of course all hell breaks loose when the worlds' super villains find out and go on a crazed rampage with no one there to stop them.   Guest appearances by Batman, Green Arrow, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman (so I can kill him off).

Taco Bell or McDonald’s?

Neither, fast food will kill you.   Haven't you seen Supersize Me!?

Tell us a little about your live outside of comics.

Well, I have two wonderful little kids, a boy and a girl.   I own a house in Lake Stevens, Washington and I work as the Systems Administrator for the Seattle Monorail Project in downtown Seattle.   I spend way too much time watching television series on DVD's. Currently I'm on Sex and the City, next I'll start Farscape.   Other than that I spend the rest of my time webmastering several websites including ModernPulp.com, ErrantEntertainment.com, and my personal website, JimNunn.com.

Well, I think that's about it for me. I'm out, peace!
